IMHO, it's a BAD IDEA except in large turbine powered and transport category aircraft.
The BEST idea is multiple GUMPS checks in the landing phase of flight.

  Thoughts From CSOB1

Welcome to the and IMPROVED CSOB* site with extensive content on how I care for and operate my Beechcraft B55 Baron airframe and TCM engines. The site is also loaded with links to all my favorite weather and flight planning resources, so that when I'm on the road I can go to one place on the web with all my flying related links.

After many  tedious hours of html-ing, I have finally migrated all of the content from the old single-page, never ending scroll format to this more modern format. Please enjoy this new format and let me know if you have an item worthy of CSOB status!

This site was conceived and created especially for Beech List Subscribers in appreciation for everything that they have shared with me over the last ten years in owning and operating my B55 Baron.

Visit My N2023W Links page for extensive background info and pictures of my 1965 Beechcraft Baron B55 during many engine and airframe projects.

Much of the content in this site is the result of collective learnings and contributions from the Beech List and Beech Talk communities, that I felt should be archived and shared with other Beechcraft Owners who may not have the time or the patience to participate or lurk through the heavy Beech List Email activity. It is augmented with many of my own money-saving findings and parts resources that I have developed in owning and operating my Baron B55.

Click Here to become a "Beech Lister", the greatest Beechcraft specific E-Mail discussion Group on the planet (but I'm biased)!

Warning: The Beech E-Mail List can at times be over 200 emails/day! However, priceless information and camaraderie is also included. After joining please don't post to the list: "How do I unsubscribe?" Because it's at the same place you sign up!

For a less Email "intense" type of Forum experience with searchable topics archived into categories, try the Beech Talk site.

Look for my CSOB* Seal of Approval for money saving tips and watch outs that I have found in owning and operating my Beechcraft B55.

"CSOB" (Cheap $on of a Beech). Because Owning and Flying my Beechcraft is done safely AND for less money!

A special CSOB Thank You to Beech Lister and former Baron owner, Cam Dunlap, for his generous donation of web design and hosting resources to modernize this CSOB content! If you have any interest in real estate investing, Cam is an outstanding resource and offers extensive tools and training.

Happy Skies!

Mike Caban (aka CSOB1)
