Many Oshkosh fly-in attendees choose to camp near their airplanes while attending the show
to enhance the camaraderie and experience of the event. This usually
requires transporting additional bulk and weight of their camping gear
in their aircraft to and from the event.
A Beechcraft friend of mine, knowing
that I have a base of operations in Appleton (KATW) and regularly attend
the Oshkosh airshow, mentioned to me that several people were looking
for local storage for their camping gear and that it might be a service
appreciated by attendees. This resulted in the creation of OSHstorage.com
for annual tote storage service for pilot's camping gear to allow for
additional fuel weight and/or better aircraft performance on departure
and arrival the following year.

Logistics and Stipulations*
The
totes will be stored in a structure that is protected from weather
elements (T-hangar or commercial storage facility) and will be a minimum
of 2 inches off the ground. The structure will NOT be
climate controlled. It will experience the temperature highs, lows, and
humidity swings of Wisconsin. Make sure your gear is dry before loading
it into the tote, lest mold and mildew take up residence on your gear.
Each tote will be labeled with owner name and contact info and sealed with one security zip tie on each side.
No insurance or liability for loss of your contents is provided.
Customers are expected and encouraged to maintain insurance on their
items through their own policies for the duration of their storage.
